Collaboration #1: Hanky Panky!
Handkerchiefs have been an accessory, a means of communication, and even a central symbol in Shakespeare’s Othello.
They’ve represented wealth, status, class, love—or were just used to wipe your nose.
In the early 20th century, handkerchiefs were a personal staple. But with the rise of mass-produced disposable products, the 1918 pandemic, and Kleenex’s brilliant marketing campaign—“Don’t carry a cold in your pocket”—the handkerchief eventually lost its cultural significance.
Still, I think they remain incredibly useful!
You can use a handkerchief for so much more than boogers—sweat, blood, signaling attention, shielding from dust, cleaning your instrument, holding hot cookware, bandaging a wound, voodoo, making a tourniquet, tying up belongings, or simply adding a little rizz to your outfit. —And I’m sure the list goes on!
Sooo, I decided to collaborate with multi-dimensional artist: @pho.tonic_molecules to create our first art collaboration: “Collaboration #1: Hanky Panky!”
We made 12 custom handkerchiefs using a few different techniques to create the most unique and stunning patterns!
Each is one-of-a-kind—made by two Austin-based artists, 100% cotton, and dyed with high-quality dyes.
